Hebrews 13:8

Brothers and Sisters,

I could not be more excited to celebrate a very special birthday this week.  I am more than happy to share my jubilation for this very special birthday with you.

The birthday is so special – this person is so special – that the regular “birthday song” is not going to be good enough – no way, not by a long shot.  To celebrate this birthday, we need to bring out the heavy hitters.

Here’s the birthday song that I think we should sing:

 R. You are the highest honor of our race.

Blessed are you, daughter, by the Most High God above all the women of Earth; and blessed be the Lord God, creator of Heaven and Earth.

Judith 13:18-19

R. You are the highest honor of our race.

My heart exults in the Lord; my whole being rejoices in Almighty God, because God is all-knowing and it is God who weighs our actions.

First Samuel 2:1, 3

 R. You are the highest honor of our race.

Your deed of hope will never be forgotten by those who recall the might of God.

Judith 13:19

Blessed are you who believed that the promise of the Lord would be fulfilled.

Luke 1:45

 R. You are the highest honor of our race.

May God make this redound to your everlasting honor, rewarding you with blessings; for you risked your life when our people were being oppressed, and you averted our disaster – walking in the straight path before our God.

Judith 13:20

 R. You are the highest honor of our race.

Happy birthday next Saturday, Blessed Mother!

I hope that you’ll be celebrating our mother’s birthday with friends, a celebratory toast, and lots of prayer.  Almighty God gave her this:  clothing of the Sun, the moon beneath her feet, and twelve stars for a crown (cf. Revelation 12:1); be sure that our mother gets a good gift from you on her birthday September 8th.

God be near,

Father Jeremy
